Here are the members of
and their bios Mortal Rose was the brain child of Darin Page and Julia Robertson. It was formed in Brisbane, Australia, in March of 2001 with Julia doing vocals, Darin playing lead, Kim playing rhythm and Brendan playing bass. Later Julia took a break and Paul Windsor joined to do vocals and rhythm. Julia then returned and took up vocals once more. We had our first gig in January of 2002. On August 25th 2002, Mortal Rose expanded by 2. Our drumming pair Majenta and Steve. The members of Mortal Rose follow different paths, the music written by the band expresses the diversity of such paths. Mortal Rose's first gig consisted of popular covers only from such bands as Blink182, Foo Fighters, Everclear etc. We started writing our own music in early 2002, some of which debuted at a gig in Eagleby in June 2002. As we write more of our own Pagan/Gothic/Rock music we are phasing out the covers and are focusing more on our own material. The style of music from Mortal Rose has been described as the result of an accident between "Creed" and George" Majenta Nicholls one of our djembe drummers left the band to move south of the border. Her last gig was Pagan Summer Gathering on January 25th 2003. We wish her well. Steve Hammersley left the band after Pagan Pride Day 2003. He too has moved on to a new home, new friends and a new life. Old D'jembe drummers never die, they just go south. We finally found our new drummer in late 2003. His name is Robert Freeman and we found him playing drums for Grendel In May of 2004 Darin Page and Mortal Rose parted ways. He will be missed not only by the rest of Mortal Rose but also by our fans. He was a comical Lead guitarist and caused many a chuckle at our gigs.
