Deity of Choice:
This offering by Brisbane band "Mortal Rose"
is a promising taste of what the future may hold in store for Pagan Rock in
Australia. With distinct
flavours of the great UK Pagan Rock band "Incubus Succubus", the
demo of the EP "Deity of Choice" displayed maturity, variety, and
a lively sense of fun. Contagiously
catchy, their music is easy to listen to.
The faster tracks are energetic, and invite one to get up and dance.
The slower numbers don't disappoint either, with charm, simplicity
and a flavour all their own.
Drawing inspiration from a wide range of pagan themes
and elements, I an only hope that we will hear a lot more from this budding
band, and if you get a chance to see them live this is an experience not to
be missed if the buzz in the Brisbane scene is anything to go by.
